About the preschool

Children at Deakin Preschool are nurtured and challenged through a play based approach to learning. Education values creativity and independence. This approach fosters children’s individual needs, interests and skills, creating a learning environment in which children can progress at their own pace.

Learning is enhanced by the attractive location of the preschool, situated within Latrobe Park. The garden features mature trees and shrubs, providing ample summer shade. This natural, leafy setting also encourages children’s exploration, with many wonderful secret spaces for imaginative play. The indoor playroom is sunny and bright, with a cosy atmosphere. It links easily to the outdoors through large sliding doors opening onto a covered veranda.
