Harassment of Students
The ACT Education and Training Directorate requires its schools to have procedures for resolving cases of sexual harassment involving students. Alleged incidents of sexual harassment against children (by other children or adults) while under the jurisdiction of the school should be reported to one of the Sexual Harassment Contact Teachers. Their names are advised early each school year and displayed in all units. Harassment is dealt with under Forrest's Student Management Policy.
These are unpleasant but normal part of school life. If a student is identified with headlice, notices are sent home to the whole class. Please check your child in accordance with the notice. The ACT Department of Education's policy on Headlice can be viewed at: Head Lice Policy.
An important part of a child's education is the carry-over of learning into his/her activities outside of the school setting. One way this can be done is through homework. The Forrest staff and school community believe that homework can be an important and valuable extension of classroom learning. For further information please view our Homework Policy.
